This is a product that I ran across last season by accident. I was in a local store here in Alamance County, North Carolina and the owner of the store (knowing I'm a deer hunter) says to me....."Give this stuff a try, it's made from the fellas that make Duragloss products". I took a look at it and I'll be quite honest, I thought to myself, "Another product to catch us, not game", I was out of Scentkiller and decided what the heck, not the first time I've bought something that was useless. First time in the woods with it I sprayed down and took the bottle in the woods with me. I had talked to another local hunter who swore up and down the deer would eat anything you sprayed it on so I decided to mist down a couple of small saplings about 25 yards out in front of my stand.

That evening there was a slight breeze and within 30 minutes of being on stand I had deer moving in the hardwoods. The first group of 3 does came down the trail, stopped on a dime and turned right towards where I had sprayed the "Juice". These does nibbled every single leaf off the small sapling. Eventually, they made their way on through the woods and out of site. Right before dark I had another doe come in, she walked directly under my ladderstand and stopped. I kept thinking what in the heck is she stopped there for. Turns out, I had laid the bottle of Stumpy's Root Juice at the base of my stand while I was getting my bow tied off to my pull up rope. I had forgot the bottle was there and this doe had found it.

I try not to get "caught up" in the deer attractants game and to be quite honest most of what I've tried in the past hasn't worked. As far as this product, all I can say is, I've seen it work. I know the deer are curious about it and I've had the same results multiple times in the woods. No one is claiming that this will put the next state record on your wall but it is PROVEN to work not only as a cover up scent but an attractant as well.

The product is from a local company, Brothers Research Corporation in Burlington, NC. They are actually well known for their automotive line DURAGLOSS ,if you folks want to give it a try you can reach them toll free at 1-800-638-7245 to find out what stores near you may be carrying it or you can even order direct. Tell 'em Brad with Carolinasoutdoor sent you!

The Stumpy’s Root Juice Story

Deer Attractant and Cover Scent

* Brothers Research and Pete Squibb senior wildlife biologist from Michigan developed and refined the natural ingredients in Stumpy’s Root Juice to attract white-tailed deer.
* The base formula was proven to be an effective deer attractant and was put through a rigorous field testing design.
* The testing was designed and carried out by recognized Wildlife Biologists with over 45 years of whitetail deer experience.
* Tests were conducted using remote triggered digital cameras to observe deer reactions to various formulations.
* During the two years of field testing, 50 formulations were used and 10,000 photos of the reaction of wild deer were recorded.
* Side by side testing of various formulas also resulted in the attractant to overpower a whitetail’s normal defensive instincts.
* SRJ was effective in stimulating a Whitetails natural curiosity. The curiosity was demonstrated to override normal defense instincts, making animals less sensitive to human scent and making them more visible to hunters.
* SRJ was also effective as a cover scent to mask human scent while stimulating a whitetails curiosity.

SUMMARY

* Stumpy’s Root Juice was tried, tested and proven by hunters for hunters.
* The convenient spray bottle makes it easy to use for attracting passing deer to your hunting stand.
* SRJ has been proven to attract deer for pre-season, trail camera scouting and wildlife viewing.
* One product, one price, 2 uses. A Deer Attractant and Cover Scent. Deer corn not needed. Why buy 2 when 1 will do.

I bought some of this lastyear at a store somewhere near Mebane, NC. I didn't observe them eating it because I used it as a coverscent on my boots. Very sweet smelling.
